How to Contribute

How can I help?

Want to help? Great, there are many ways to help out make this software better:
  • Contributing code
  • Writing documentation
  • Testing and reporting bugs
  • User support (help other users on the sauron-users mailing list)
Before starting any major work on sources, please join the sauron-devel mailing list and post a short note announcing what your plans are. This will give other people a change to comment on your proposed changes, and decrease risk that is't something that is already being done or would conflict with someone elses work. Take a look at the TODO file in the sources (or from CVS) if you need ideas what you could do to help.

Requirements

All source code submitted to this project must be licensed under the GPL (GNU General Public License). Submissions under any other license will be rejected. When adding new file, make sure the GNU General Public License text appear at the top. Also, don't forget to use your own name as the copyright holder.

Submitting patches

To submit your changes, send them as patches against existing source tree in the "unified" diff format. Use (GNU) diff -u command to generate the patches.

Please submit your changes to sauron-devel mailing list with short explanation what they're about.
